What You’ll Do

As a founding AI Engineer at Scale Medicine, you will push beyond the adjacent possible within the research and application of AI. You will develop the core AI capabilities of our flagship product.

Responsibilities

• Product Iteration: Conceive and create AI systems that balance state-of-the-art results with shipping quickly. Partner closely with Product team.
• Massive-Scale Data Processing: Handle multimodal data sources to develop our products.
• Evaluation: Build data-driven evaluation systems to improve product capabilities.

Qualifications

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience (post-BS / MS) in a software engineering role involving AI / ML.
• Experience with designing and building scalable production systems from the ground up with Python, relational and vector databases, and large language models.
• Familiarity with data ETL technologies such as Spark and dbt.
• Proficiency across our entire stack, or equivalent technologies: Nextjs, TypeScript, FastAPI, and Postgres.
• Demonstrated ability to train, test, and optimize models, and then deploy them into production.
• Outstanding communication skills for low-level technical details and high-level vision.
• Extreme curiosity, personal agency, and velocity.
• Knowledge of biology is not required.
